Spacious Skies Partners With Black Folks Camp Too
The private campground collection, Spacious Skies is an official partner with Black Folks Camp Too (BFCT) to help promote cultural awareness, diversity, and inclusion at all of its camping locations. Founded by Earl B. Hunter Jr., BFCT aims to increase diversity within the outdoor industry. Spacious Skies is the first campground to receive BFCT’s Unity Blaze certification. Its staff underwent comprehensive training to better understand why Black communities and other marginalized groups have barriers when it comes to accessing the outdoors. The company will display the Unity Blaze certification on its website to ensure guests of all races, ages, and genders know they’re welcome at Spacious Skies campgrounds.

Parts of the western U.S. are seeing spectacular wildflower blooms, thanks to a wet winter filled with heavy snow falls. German-based RV manufacturer, Kuckoo Camper, recently showed off its new RV model, Emma. The small prototype follows its big brother, Bruno, an off-roading rig the manufacturer launched a few years ago. This tiny, lightweight trailer is brimming with eye-catching features, including a glass entrance door, a skylight, a queen-sized bed that folds into a couch, and an exterior kitchen that’s accessible from inside and outside of the rig. Buyers can also opt for an electrical power system that’s expected to include solar panels. Weighing less than 900 pounds, Emma can be towed by smaller vehicles and capable EVs. While pricing and final design details have yet to be released, production is expected to begin in 2024.

The family-friendly campground collection named 25 locations rolling out updates this summer. Asheboro, North Carolina; Canyon Lake, Texas, North Lawrence, Ohio; and Williamstown, New Jersey are just a few of the campgrounds on the list, with new features ranging from water activities to rooftop bars. Some parks will be updated before Memorial Day, while others are expected to launch new amenities throughout the summer.
