Want to Feel Happier? Spend Time Outdoors
Did you know time spent on road trips and in the great outdoors can help you feel happier? Outdoorsy, an RV rental company, surveyed 1,000 people to learn more about the role outdoor travel plays in their lives, even as plans change due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The findings of their Road to Wellness survey show that 94 percent of people believe time spent outdoors improves their mental well-being. What role can RVing play? It makes it easier for families to connect with nature. Plus, 65 percent of parents say driving is easier than flying with children and 82 percent of people say road trips are more cost-effective. As traditional travel plans have changed, 71 percent of survey respondents are looking for new ways to travel, with RVs being a top choice.

How Small Can You Go? Check out This Petite Travel Trailer
Want all the ease of a travel trailer without worrying about upgrading your tow vehicle? The 13-foot KZ Sportsmen Classic SE 100RKSE weighs in at a mere 2,800 pounds fully loaded, making it towable by many minivans and crossovers with proper tow packages. While this unit doesn’t have all of the space of its larger kin, it does have the basics you need for a getaway. The interior features a queen bed and storage cabinets. The 78-inch ceiling makes it possible for you to stand up inside the trailer and enjoy sufficient headroom while in bed, unlike smaller teardrop trailers. Pop open the exterior rear kitchen (complete with refrigerator, sink, and griddle) to cook your meals surrounded by the grandeur of nature.

Even Celebrities are Discovering the Joys of RVing
Imagine setting up your RV for the weekend and looking over to spot Justin Bieber, Miranda Lambert, or Christina Aguilera in the campsite next door. It could happen as more celebrities take to the road in RVs. While Matthew McConaughey is a long-known RV owner, other celebrities seem to be exploring the road trip lifestyle for the first time. With international travel shut down and social distancing encouraged, celebrities have been spotted camping this summer. On Instagram, Miranda Lambert shared memories of making “campfire casserole” in a Dutch oven, Kelly Osbourne explained how RV travel helped her stay safe, and Jennie Garth expressed pleasure about getting out of the house in her home on wheels.

Which Campground was Named KOA’s Best of 2020?
With campsites located right on the shores of the Youghiogheny River and others offering unobstructed water views, it is no surprise the award for the 2020 KOA Campground of the Year went to the Uniontown KOA Holiday in southwestern Pennsylvania. Aside from its ambiance, the river also provides recreation through floating, paddling, and fishing. Active families will appreciate easy access to the 135-mile Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) rail trail, found just across from the KOA. Inside the park, two newly renovated pools and themed weekends add to the fun, while deluxe campsites make your stay even more relaxing.

Do You Need a Surge Protector?
Surge protectors may not be cheap, but they are much cheaper than the damage malfunctioning electricity can do to an RV. Surges caused from storms or electrical problems can damage appliances, lighting, and more, leaving RV owners with thousands of dollars in repair bills. The Southwire 30-amp Surge Guard Model 44260 offers peace of mind by checking for electrical problems and protecting from power surges when they happen. After you plug into the power pedestal, the Surge Guard checks the circuitry, polarity, grounding, and more. A green light indicates that you are safe to plug in your RV. The Surge Guard Model 44270 is available for 50-amp service.
