How to Book a Campsite During This Busy Summer
Record numbers of campers are filling parks, making it more difficult to get reservations. One tip is to research when reservations open for campgrounds near your destination so you can snag a spot quickly. If your preferred campground is already full, use a service like Campnab to get an alert when a cancellation becomes available. Consider private land options, which allow you to spend the night in someone’s yard or driveway, or go boondocking on dispersed lands. Also, while campgrounds in and near popular locations—like state and national parks—may be booked, you may be able to find a great campground a few miles away.

The new Sweetwater Marsh Bicycle Path & Promenade connects the resort to the bayfront and surrounding wildlife refuge, as well as local attractions and the 24-mile Bayshore Bikeway.
