RVers Learn the Ropes with the Virtual “Hit the Road” RV Summit

Marc and Julie Bennett from RVLove want to help new RVers learn the ropes from the safety of their own homes. The Hit the Road RV Summit will be held virtually on June 16, 2020. Attendees will hear from more than a dozen experts in the RV industry, covering topics such as RV rentals and purchases, recommended gear, trip inspiration, rig maintenance, and working from the road. Tickets to join the summit for the day are free, but it will cost you if you want to access the content after June 16. These Lifetime Access tickets cost $27 between now and June 15th. After that, the ticket price goes up to $97. However, this valuable knowledge may be worth it, as the summit’s website claims: “It is our collective mission to help as many people as possible avoid common mistakes, save money, stay safe out on the road, and have a positive experience in your RV life and travels.”

Prepare for Flag Day on June 14

There’s no better way to celebrate Flag Day on June 14 than by flying Old Glory high in the skies. The FlagPole Buddy RV Flag Pole kit makes it easy to raise the flag several feet above your RV’s rooftop. The kit includes a 22-foot extendable fiberglass pole and brackets, which allow you to mount the flag pole to your RV’s ladder. The patented brackets only need to be installed once, making it easy to raise and lower the flag each day with a simple twist. And since the pole collapses down to just 4 feet, it’s also convenient for storage. Optional solar lights are available to illuminate your flag at night.

Michigan Scrambles to Staff State Parks Ahead of June 22 Opening

With closed campgrounds and hiring freezes during some of the busiest months, the COVID-19 pandemic has caused some serious uncertainty for many state park systems. As Michigan parks prepare to fully reopen on June 22, 2020, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources is scrambling to hire 1,500 workers. While some campgrounds are already reopening and operating like normal, parks won’t be returning to business as usual. Social distancing measures, closed restrooms and bath houses, and other regional restrictions may still be in place. Due to state furloughs, locations may be short-handed, but administrators are working hard to ensure an enjoyable visit for everyone.
