Holiday Travel Expected to Surge 34 Percent Over 2020
AAA expects a 34 percent increase in holiday travel from the 2020 season, with an estimated 109 million people traveling more than 50 miles from home. Travelers are making up for lost visits and feeling more optimistic about pandemic safety. While some are gathering with friends and families, others are using the time away from school and work to visit theme parks, beaches, and other popular vacation destinations.

The Xponent solar awning offers an innovative solution for RVers wishing to expand their solar setups. RV roofs are often cluttered with vents, skylights, A/C units, and more, leaving little space for solar panels. The Xponent awning offers more than 100 square feet of solar panels, which deliver up to 1,200 watts of charging. Pricing starts at $4,990 for the 800-watt system and runs up to $7,550 for the 1,200-watt option. Though this awning is geared toward heavy solar users, Xponent hopes to work with manufacturers to develop less expensive, pre-installed options for new RVs.

Camping reservations for public lands have increased 300 percent since 2008. Can you guess which locations are the most popular? Outdoorsy used reservation data to find out. National parks top the list, with Bryce Canyon, the Great Smoky Mountains, and Acadia making the top five. Several national forests offered hot options and the Army Corps of Engineers made the list with Texas’ Canyon Lake. The number one RV camping location was Grand Canyon National Park, which was booked for 18,436 nights in 2020.
