Village Camp Is the Latest Concept in RV Resorts

Get ready for the “super high-end” camping coming soon to Lake Tahoe, California, and Flagstaff, Arizona. Developers from Roberts Resorts debuted the “Village Camp” concept, which focuses on upscale resorts with manicured RV sites, deluxe tiny house cabins, and upscale amenities. Bistros will feature local beers, coffee, and wine alongside chef-prepared meals. Friends and family can gather in the clubhouse and around community fire pits. Village Camp Truckee Tahoe and Village Camp Flagstaff are expected to partially open this fall, with final touches to be completed in 2023. Future Village Camps are planned for Moab and Park City, Utah.

What’s Trending in the World of Electric RV Vehicles?

Electric vehicles received a lot of press this year, but what is the state of motorized electric RVs in North America? THOR Industries conducted a study to find out what consumers expect out of these new rigs. Around 47 percent of people expect to use a motorized electric RV every week or several times a month, and 97 percent expect the vehicle to go longer than 3 hours without a charge. Campgrounds need to prepare, as 44 percent of consumers expect to find fast-charging stations at campsites. THOR plans to use this information in the development of new motorized electric RVs.

Which National Park Do You Want to See Named Next?

Which beautiful landscape will be named the National Park Service’s 64th national park? No one truly knows, but Outside Online took a look at the top contenders. Already a national monument, Arizona’s Chiricahua National Monument has received enough votes in the U.S. Senate for a redesignation. New Jersey and Pennsylvania don’t currently have national parks but that could change if the popular Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area receives a new designation. The same is true for Alabama, which could see its first national park if the Ocmulgee Mounds National Historic Park is redesignated.

Everything You Need to Know About the Used Wholesale RV Market

Gas prices and inflation are up, but does that mean RV sales will go down? Not necessarily. Even with the recent economic volatility, RV dealers are reporting strong interest and sales for used RVs, according to Black Book. Motorhome sales at auction increased slightly in April, while towable sales fell a bit. The average cost of a motorhome came in at $76,418, a substantial increase over 2021, while towables average $20,361, a slight decline from last year. In comparison, motorhomes were auctioning for less than $50,000 before the pandemic. Volume is up in both categories over the previous year, as well.
