Will RVing Stay Hot in 2022?
There’s no change on the horizon for the surge in RV travel, according to a trend report from RVshare, a peer-to-peer RV rental network. While pandemic woes have limited some travel interest, RVing is expected to remain a hot option, with a 13 percent increase in interest since 2020. Around 76 percent of employed travelers had the option to work remotely, a trend that will continue to influence travel plans. Popular destinations include national parks, kid-friendly locales, festivals, and special events.

The 2022 RV show season kicked off with record-breaking attendance numbers at the Florida RV SuperShow hosted at the Florida State Fairgrounds outside of Tampa. Despite cooler than normal temperatures and cautions surrounding COVID-19, more than 80,000 attendees came to view and purchase the latest offerings from the industry, exceeding the previous record by nearly 6,000 people. Several RV dealers at the show also experienced record sales numbers with most retailers selling out of their 2022 models by the end of the week. Retailers noted high interest in Super Cs, as well as more sales from first-time buyers and families.
