Get Ready to Reserve Your Campsite in Canada

If you’re hoping to camp in Canada’s popular national parks and conservation areas, reservations through Parks Canada open this week for some parks. The site details the opening date for reservations for each park, as well as the type of accommodations available, including RV and tent campsites, yurts, cabins, and more. Once open, you can reserve your spot for any date between April 2022 and March 2023.

THOR Industries Goes Electric With Florida RV SuperShow Reveal

THOR Industries made waves at the 2022 RV SuperShow in Tampa, Florida this week with the unveiling of the 22-foot electric Airstream eStream travel trailer, and the THOR Vision Vehicle (TVV) Class B motorhome. The industry-first electric chassis technology of these rigs not only increases driving range and significantly improves gas mileage, but both RVs will reportedly be able to camp off-grid for more than a week without the need for electric hookups or generators. The eStream is even designed with an electric motor drive system that allows it to simply follow a tow vehicle—giving RVers the freedom to pull this trailer with any car, truck, or SUV.

Start Planning Now for Balloon Fiesta 2022—or 2023

If you want to attend Albuquerque’s popular International Balloon Fiesta, you’ll have to plan ahead. Reservations for the 2022 event’s onsite RV camping went on sale January 5 and sold out in 90 minutes. However, you can still sign up for the waitlist and check for availability at campgrounds in the surrounding region. Tickets for the October event go on sale in April, with more than 700,000 people expected to attend. If you’d like to camp at Balloon Fiesta in 2023, set a reminder to get your spot early when reservations open next January.

Another Electric Pickup Enters the Truck Market

Which pickup will dominate the EV truck market? Chevrolet is tossing its hat into the ring with the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV. The first model to roll out in 2023 will be the $40,000 WT (work truck), followed by the luxurious RST, which will be outfitted with a fully loaded trim for $105,000. Built on an electric-only chassis, the Silverado EV is expected to be closer to a three-quarter-ton size, making it one of the larger electric pickups. After the first models arrive, Chevrolet plans to add various configurations at price points in between the WT and RST models.
