3 Tasty Thanksgiving Menus You Can Cook in Your RV Kitchen

No matter how small your RV kitchen is, you can cook a Thanksgiving meal with big flavors. Togo RV has prepared three menus that work well for the campground, whether you’re cooking inside or outside. While our traditional menu features time-honored favorites, our non-traditional and campsite menus include familiar flavors in unique dishes. Grill up turkey burgers and slather with cranberry mayo for a modern, camper-friendly option, or bake a deboned turkey breast for a traditional taste that fits into a tiny oven. These recipes give hints for what can be prepped ahead and describe techniques to save stress and mess on your Thanksgiving RV trip.

Everything You Need to Know About RV Winterizing

With winter just around the corner, it may be time to winterize your RV, depending on where you live. This necessary chore ensures you don’t damage your RV with frozen water pipes, which can burst and lead to costly repairs. While some RVers have this service done for them, it’s relatively easy to do it yourself. The Togo RV Guide to RV Winterizing provides an overview of two popular methods—blowing out the water lines versus filling them with antifreeze—and gives tips for properly preparing your interior and exterior for winter storage. We answer common questions and share frequent mistakes.

Veterans and Gold Star Families Can Visit U.S. Natural Wonders for Free

Starting Veterans Day, the Department of the Interior began waiving admission fees at National Park Service sites for military veterans and for Gold Star families (those who have lost a loved one in service). These individuals and families may now enter more than 2,000 NPS sites across the U.S., including popular spots like the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone, using official forms of identification that verify their status. This is an extension of the Military Pass, which is available to current service members. The Secretary of the Interior, David Bernhardt, said this move provides “free access to the iconic and treasured lands they fought to protect.”

No More Fighting over the Bathroom Sink

While double vanities are common in home residences, the RV industry never picked up on this trend, most likely due to space constraints. But with the nearly 31-foot Heartland RV North Trail 25RBP travel trailer, couples no longer will have to worry about sharing one small sink. In addition to the bathroom upgrade, this model also features a cozy living area, replete with a plush L-shaped couch located across from a unique half dinette—it has a bench on one side and an opening for chairs on the other. A large island separates the dinette from the kitchen, which offers ample storage and counter space. The front bedroom, featuring a king-size bed, provides a cozy place to sleep.

In what has become an annual tradition, Target’s Wondershop is offering fanciful cardboard cat scratcher houses, each with a fun holiday design. The 2020 lineup includes one RV lovers won’t want to miss: a retro-inspired motorhome model decked out with Christmas lights and an evergreen tree on top. Inside, Kitty can nap or play and an embedded scratchpad forms the floor. The cathouse isn’t the brand’s first foray into RV-related holiday decor. Campground lovers will also enjoy Target’s ever-popular metal teardrop trailer figurines, available in large and small sizes.
