RVing parties of four can reduce travel costs by up to 60 percent, while two-person travel parties can cut costs by more than 40 percent. These prices even factor in fuel prices and the cost of owning an RV. The study used two hypothetical travel groups—two adults and two children or two adults—to compare expenses to other forms of travel including flight, rental car, and hotel costs. For example, traveling in a high-end Class A motorhome was compared to first-class flights, premium rental car costs, and upscale hotel or resort expenses.
